The 2012 Chrysler Town & Country receives good reviews for its family-friendly interior, but automotive journalists still say that other vans offer more refined performance.
Most test drivers say that the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country deserves a spot on any minivan shopper’s list, especially if you’re looking for a van with upscale, high-tech features and don’t care too much about performance. The 2012 Chrysler Town & Country offers a standard rear-seat DVD entertainment system and available features that turn the van into a Wi-Fi hotspot. It’s also practical, with second row seats that fold into the floor along with lots of cargo space.
In all, members of the automotive press say that the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country makes the company that invented the minivan a contender in the class again. But, that doesn’t mean the Town & Country is perfect. You get a lot of standard features, but the Town & Country is pricey compared with other vans. Plus, a few reviewers say its performance isn’t as good as what other vans offer. Other Minivans to Consider
Though car reviewers like the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country a lot, several prefer the performance in the Toyota Sienna, which also has a lower starting price. Though you don’t get as many standard features on the Sienna, you do get better resell value and available all-wheel drive.
If you’re considering the Town & Country, you’ll also want to look at the Dodge Grand Caravan and Volkswagen Routan. All three vans are built by Chrysler, with the Grand Caravan offering a lower price, but the same practical seating and cargo options as the Town & Country. Though you’ll give up some posh features, the Grand Caravan may make more sense for your budget. The Routan has styling that may appeal to you more than the Town & Country’s.

After a major update in 2011, which included a new engine, improved interior and upgrades to the suspension, the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country sees few changes.
