Though it's not a terrible minivan, members of the automotive press say others in the class have more to offer than the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country.

Like almost every other van in the class, the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country is powered by a V6 engine and has a six-speed automatic transmission. However, unlike others in the class, test drivers say the powertrain in the Town & Country is unrefined, and that it feels like the Town & Country's engine doesn't live up to its horsepower rating. Fuel economy, at 17/25 mpg city/highway, is slightly less than what's typical for the class. Test drivers also comment that the Town & Country doesn't handle as well as other vans do, though it does have a smooth ride.

Reviews of the Town & Country's interior are a mixed bag. Reviewers like the standard Stow 'n Go second-row seats, which fold into the floor to maximize cargo space, but several report that overall, Town & Country's seven seats aren't comfortable. Standard features on the Town & Country include a rear-seat entertainment system with Blu-Ray capability, while optional features include Sirius Backseat TV, Chrysler's uConnect WiFi system and navigation. Reviewers single out the navigation system as being particularly easy to use.

Other Minivans to Consider

Though it doesn't offer a standard rear-seat entertainment system, the Honda Odyssey does offer a standard USB port, Bluetooth and rearview camera. Reviewers also rate the Odyssey's performance better than the Town & Country's.

The Toyota Sienna has a larger overall cargo capacity than the Town & Country, as well as a better reliability rating and available all-wheel drive.

Details: The 2013 Chrysler Town & Country

The Chrysler Town & Country is a front-wheel drive minivan with a V6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission. It seats up to seven people and comes in Touring, Touring-L and Limited Trims. All trims come with a standard rear-seat entertainment system. New for 2013 is standard trailer sway control and and an available Blu-Ray rear-seat entertainment system, as well as rear-seat USB ports. The Chrysler Town & Country was last redesigned in 2011.
