Reliability
The 2010 Avenger comes with Dodge's three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty. Dodge recently discontinued a lifetime powertrain warranty, instead offering a five-year/60,000 mile plan. Given the Avenger's mediocre reliability scores, the loss of the lifetime powertrain warranty may be a real concern for shoppers. If you can find a 2009 model still on a dealership lot, it may be a safer investment than the 2010.
