Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Auto writers love the Challenger's head-turning retro design. However, throwback exteriors aren't unique in this class. All of the Challenger's rivals -- including the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro -- feature the bad boy looks of their muscle car past.

  • "We were followed, ogled, begged and made several offers we easily refused. We were stopped by fellow motorists, quizzed at length by perfect strangers.  ... The car was a magnet, even when the only person sitting inside was Ria's 83-year-old mother, Ursula DeGuia." -- Washington Post
  • "The 2009 Challenger R/T in my driveway was a fiery red beauty with that magic word Hemi emblazed on either side of its hood, designating the classic 5.7-liter V-8 that lies beneath. The styling cues are so evocative of the original Challengers that more than one person thought it was a classic car." --  Arizona Republic
  • "Even though this car is larger than the original Challenger, its proportions are so nice that they disguise its size. The simplicity of its lines caused lots of swiveled heads when I drove it in traffic. I answered questions about it wherever I went." -- Kansas City Star
