Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The 2008 Charger's exterior is a homage the 1960's original, with a brawny and muscular stance. The Washington Post says that it's an "aggressive, hell-bent-for-speed exterior, and other reviewers agree that the Charger's bold exterior matches its muscle car heritage and powerful performance.
U.S. News' Rick Newman calls the Charger "Hot. Bold and bossy. Dodge developed an original exterior that is fresh." The Auto Channel continues to say that the Charger is a "handsome beast" and MSN notes, "The recognizable Dodge grille on the front of the Charger angles forward, giving the appearance of forward motion even when the car is standing still." Edmunds sums up the majority view by saying: "The styling is both clean and aggressive, its stance is beefy, and those looking for a sedan with serious attitude should like it."
A number of reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with the Charger's rear view. "The view from the rear is the least interesting of them all," says Kelley Blue Book. And Edmunds says that "Dodge designers sculpted a car that reflects traditional American muscle-car values." The Kansas City Star agrees, writing it "looks plain from behind."
