Safety - What the Auto Press Says

In government crash tests, the 2010 Edge receives top five-star scores for all seating positions in side-impact crash tests. In frontal crash tests, it receives five stars for driver safety and four stars for passenger safety. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the 2010 model top scores of "Good" in frontal, side impact and rear crash protection tests.

  • "The Edge receives two new safety features: a blind spot mirror and SOS-Post Crash Alert System. The standard blind spot mirror adds a convex mirror aimed at the driver's blind spot. The standard SOS-Post Crash Alert System unlocks the vehicle doors and activates the horn/hazard flashers in the event of a crash. There's also a new Sport model that features a newly optional sports-tuned suspension." -- Cars.com
