Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The 2010 Escape Hybrid's exterior styling has changed very little since its 2008 redesign, and test drivers don't give it much mention. A notable feature is Ford's capless self-sealing fuel-filler system, which makes filling up easier and reduces evaporative emissions.
- "The Escape's upright styling gives it the profile of a traditional SUV and sets it apart from smooth-cornered models like the CR-V, Rogue and RAV4," says the Detroit Free Press.
- "Make sure to see the Escape's new gas cap. It does away with screw-on caps that drivers tend to leave behind at service stations and instead self-seals the gas filler opening." -- Associated Press
- "A bold front end combines with sleeker lines to result in an Escape that's both more rugged and more refined than its predecessor, and mimics the looks of its Explorer and Expedition bigger brothers. If not for the unique 16-inch aluminum wheels and "Hybrid" badges, the Escape Hybrid would be difficult to distinguish from the gas-only Escape XLT." -- Kelley Blue Book
