2014 Ford Escape Video Transcript
Critics say the 2014 Ford Escape offers agile handling and a powerful engine but, also note that inside you will find high quality materials and comfortable seating. Hi! I am Jim Sharifi, Senior Editor with US News Best Cars. In this video well take a closer look at the Escapes interior.
Test drivers like the interior of the Ford Escape saying it remains silent over bumpy roads and at highway speeds. In addition, they say that the front and rear seats are comfortable with ample head and leg room. Cloth seats come standard, while leather upholstery and heated front seats are available.
The Escape has about 34 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up and nearly 68 cubic feet with them folded. While thats a good amount of cargo space for an affordable compact SUV, the Honda CR-V and Subaru Forester offer more room. The Ford Escape is available with a hands-free power liftgate which opens by waving your foot under the rear bumper. Experts say its an intelligent feature that works well.
What doesnt work as well is the optional MyFord Touch infotainment system. Some reviewers say the system can glitchy, slow to response to user inputs and may have a bit of a learning curve. Other options include dual-zone automatic climate control, a 9-speaker audio system and rear parking sensors. Standard features include Bluetooth, an auxiliary input and a USB port.
