2008 Ford Super Duty Review
This review was written when the 2008 Ford Super Duty was new.
The 2008 Ford F-250, 350 and 450 Super Dutys are heavy duty pickup trucks. The F-250 and the F-350 come standard with a 5.4-liter Triton V8 engine that makes 300 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque. The F-450 has a standard 6.4-liter turbo diesel engine that makes 350 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. The diesel engine is an option on the F250 and F350, as is a 6.8-liter Triton V10 gasoline engine that makes 362 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. Depending on the configuration of their cabs, the Ford Super Duty trucks can hold between two and five people. The F250 has a 3,170 pound payload capacity and a 12,500 pound towing capacity. The F350 has a 5,720 pound payload capacity and an 18,700 pound towing capacity. The F450 can tow a best-in-class 24,500 pounds and haul up to 5,720 pounds.
New for 2008
For 2008 the Ford Super Duty trucks add an available rearview camera system, as well as cleaner diesel technology. The interior has also been completely redesigned. As gas prices continue to climb, sales of trucks, including heavy-duty models, have fallen sharply. If you can afford to feed the thirsty Super Duty engines, you may be in a good negotiating position with most dealers.
