Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The 2010 GMC Acadia earns top five-star scores for all seating positions in both frontal and side-impact federal government crash tests. It also gets four-star rollover scores, meaning the AWD and FWD models have only 15 and 16 percent risks of rollovers in single vehicle crashes. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the Acadia top scores of "Good" in front, side and rear crash protection tests.
- "The Acadia includes many common safety features and a few rarities for this price range. Side curtain airbags are designed to preemptively engage if there is imminent threat of a rollover and stay inflated longer during a rollover." -- Cars.com
- "One strange option on this truck: HUD. Yep, just like on a Corvette, you can get a ute with a heads-up-display. I happen to like HUDs, and this one was a bit unique. You don't really need to pay attention to the tach, like you would in say a Vette, so the speedo number is dominant in the display. And when you have XM tuned in, the song name is flashed across the screen. Again, not something that's really necessary, and it's probably another unneeded distraction, but at least you don't have to take your eyes off the road." -- AutoWeek
- "Many drivers will appreciate the raised seating position, which gives a clear view of the road. However, a high beltline limits rearward visibility, making parking lot maneuvers more difficult." -- Kelley Blue Bookv
