Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The 2010 Canyon has a rugged look that most appreciate, but it doesn't fare well when compared to the menacing stances of the Nissan Frontier, Chevrolet Colorado or Dodge Dakota. The Canyon is available as a regular cab model, an extended cab, or as a crew cab. Some reviewers appreciate the Canyon's stance, which is low enough to make loading the bed easy.  Also, a few reviewers compliment the adjustable tailgate, which makes carrying bulky loads easier.

  • "If you want a modern pickup that isn't scaled like the dump trucks of yesteryear, here's one that's worth a serious look."-- Car and Driver
  • "Out back, the Canyon's cargo boxes feature two-tier loading, and the dual-position removable tailgate can be secured partly open to support the placement of 4x8 sheets atop its wheelwells." -- Edmunds
  • "The Canyon still sports a very athletic silhouette that has been cleaned up for 2009. Latest changes include additional body-colored moldings, bezels and surrounds to add a more sporty appearance to some trim levels." -- Cars.com
  • "One benefit of the Canyon's low ride height is that the cargo box is very accessible. Whether you have to lift something over the side of the box or load something with the tailgate down, the low-riding ZQ8 suspension makes it easier than it would otherwise be." -- PickupTrucks.com
