Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The 2010 Yukon Hybrid looks very similar to the gas-only Yukon, reviewers report. The major difference is that the Hybrid has large decals that announce its hybrid powertrain. While reviewers alternate between complaining about and mocking the decals, most agree that underneath them, the Yukon Hybrid has the same angular body as other large SUVs from GM.
- "That brings us to the overdose of 'Look at me, I'm a hybrid' plumage covering the Yukon from stem to stern. We counted no fewer than nine stylized 'Hybrid' badges on our Yukon. Is the word 'subtle' in the GM marketers' handbook?" -- AutoWeek
- "Attractive." -- Car and Driver
- "A modified bumper drops the regular Yukon's fog lights for some chunky bodywork and two small portals. The grille has horizontal slats instead of the previous single-piece design. The SUV also includes lower side cladding and unique 18-inch wheels. Differences notwithstanding, few onlookers will mistake the Yukon Hybrid for anything but a Yukon." -- Cars.com
- "Good thing it has all those hybrid labels around the body to fend off public rancor." -- CNET
- "As I pulled up in stop-and-go traffic along Pennsylvania Avenue, I was hoping the drivers in the compact cars alongside me would surely see the "hybrid" badging smacked around the exterior of the GMC's body. In my mind, I felt like I needed permission be navigating city traffic in this thing." -- Washington Times
- "Aesthetically, the Yukon Hybrid is about as bashful as a drunken sorority girl at Panama City Beach Spring Break. The big rig's plastered with no fewer than nine proclamations that it possess a gas-electric drivetrain, including three-foot-long "Hybrid" stickers along its mighty flanks." -- The Truth About Cars
