Dash GPS
If you've just started shopping for a GPS navigation system, you probably don't know anything about the Dash Express. But prepare to be impressed. The first and only product from Dash Navigation, Inc., the Express allows you to search the Internet and the streets at the same time. Using a general packet radio service or GPRS connection, the Dash brand and specifically the Express can perform Yahoo searches for you as you drive.
Reviewers find the first Dash product is a better travel assistant than a navigator. Plus, some find the Express doesn't operate on its full potential without more Dash owners in the area, because it relies on community input from other Dash users to get the best directions and real-time traffic information. Still, if you're looking for instant updates and Wi-Fi while you drive, you should be fairly pleased with the Express capabilities. Subscriptions start at $12.99 for a month-to-month plan.
There are now rumors circulating that the Dash Express will be discontinued, as Dash Navigation has laid off 65 percent of its work force and is shopping its software to other device manufacturers.

Dash Car GPS Devices
The Dash Express is one of the most unique GPS devices on the market, thanks to its Wi-Fi Internet connectivity. But it trades flashy features for navigation basics -- those drivers who are frequently lost should look elsewhere.

It's a confusing time to be shopping for a new car. While there are some incredible deals to be had, many of those incentives are for cars that don't offer a lot of value in the long term.
