Warranty

Honda covers the 2012 Accord with a three-year/36,000-mile new car limited warranty, five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and five-year/unlimited-mile corrosion warranty. Although this warranty coverage is typical of new cars, the Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata offer longer bumper-to-bumper and powertrain warranties.

Also, the Honda Accord doesn’t come with any free maintenance, while the Toyota Camry and Volkswagen Passat come standard with two- and three-year free maintenance programs, respectively. Honda has a long-standing reputation for its good reliability though, and J.D. Power and Associates says the 2011 Honda Accord is the highest ranked midsize car in initial quality.
