Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The 2010 Accord has earned high marks in federal government crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has yet to test this year's Accord, but the 2009 model won the Institute's "Top Safety Pick" designation. Honda says that its Advanced Compatibility Engineering structure is the key -- directing crash forces away from the passenger cabin. The Accord comes standard with six airbags, including head curtain airbags and dual-chamber side-impact airbags designed to protect the pelvis as well as the torso. Electronic Stability Control is standard.
- "Honda likes to tout the standard safety equipment in its cars, and the Accord fills that bill. Front, front side, and curtain airbags are standard. Stability control, panic brake assist, and active head restraints also come at no charge." -- Car and Driver
- +"With a double-wishbone front suspension, and a new multi-link rear design, an Accord never felt more competent. Just in case, VSA electronic stability and traction control are now standard." -- Motor Week
