2007 Honda Fit Review

This review was written when the 2007 Honda Fit was new.

The Fit delivers a versatile interior layout and plenty of safety features. If you're in the market for an affordable small car, you should also consider the Honda Civic.

Making its U.S. market debut in 2007, the Honda Fit is highly praised for its adaptable interior, assortment of standard features and peppy ride. "It's a blast to drive and has one of the most flexible, utilitarian interiors you will find in a small car," the Boston Globe summarizes. "It's also packed with safety features, as standard fare." Car and Driver selected the Fit for one of its coveted "10 Best" car awards for 2007, claiming it "raises the bar for small-car expectations."

The 2007 Honda Fit has certainly won its share of awards. Recognized as a "Recommended Pick" by Consumer Guide, the Fit is also Motor Week's "Driver's Choice" for Best Small Car in 2007. As Motor Week explains, "the Fit is everything anyone could want in a small car. It's stylish, roomy, and frugal."

Cars.com finds the small and "versatile" Fit to be "perfect for squeezing into tight spots -- or tight budgets," and the majority of auto writers agree. In fact, IntelliChoice gives the 2007 Honda Fit an "excellent" value rating, and names it "Best in Class" for its comparatively low total cost of ownership. On the other hand, reviews like those in the Orlando Sentinel and USA TODAY recognize that the slightly larger Honda Civic comes with a more powerful engine and similar features for not much more money.
