Reviewers say abundant cargo space, a roomy back seat and a comfortable ride make the 2015 Honda FIT a standout amongst small hatchbacks. Hi! I'm Jim Sharifi, Senior Editor with the U.S. News Best Cars. Is the Honda FIT the car you've been looking for? Let's take a closer look.
The FIT seats five and is fully redesigned for 2015. A four cylinder engine and six speed manual transmission are standard and a Continuously Variable Transmission or CVT is optional. Equipped with CVT the base FIT gets an EPA estimated 33 miles/gallon and 41 on the highway which is excellent for a sub-compact car. The FIT comes in three trim levels with prices starting at about $15,500.00.
Critics agree that the FIT feels quicker than many sub-compact cars although some note that the engine is noisy. Some say the standard Six Speed Manual Transmission makes the FIT fun to drive and that the optional CVT is generally smooth and responsive. Test drivers agree that the ride is comfortable and the FIT feels composed to the highway speeds.
Reviewers say the HONDA FIT's cabin has an eye catching design and quality materials, they also write that there is plenty of space for passengers and that the back seat is surprisingly roomy. The FIT comes standard with a four speaker audio system, a rear view camera and steering wheel mounted audio and cruise controls. Available features include navigation, a power moon roof, push button start and a six speaker audio system with a seven inch touch screen display.
