Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Reviewers agree that the Fit's design is generally unappealing, but they recognize that it suits the Fit's high level of functionality. If having an all-around good-looking car is important to you, consider the Honda Civic. It has a sleeker look and a starting price that is only about $500 more than the Fit's. If funky is more your style, consider the Kia Soul, which has an eccentric look and costs more than $1,000 less than the Fit.

  • "Still small, and still looking like a Honda Odyssey that shrunk in the wash. But it has a taller, more aggressive wedge nose, longer triangular headlights and a bigger raked windshield." -- Florida Times-Union
  • "Visually the new Fit is a big improvement on the geeky, goggle-eyed current model; cleaner, sharper, with less of a whiff of sweaty basements and flickering computer screens." -- Motor Trend
  • "Another car that is so ugly that it's cute. But it's design with a purpose, and form, in this case, greatly enhances function." -- Washington Post
  • "The Fit's biggest problem is it looks, at best, like a jellybean. At worst, like a minivan. Having said that, the exterior is a means to an end. The end? Space, and lots of it in a tiny package. Vision is also excellent through the large glasshouse." -- Jalopnik
