Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
Critics receive the similarities between the new Honda Insight and the established Toyota Prius positively, while also praising the Insight's resemblance to other Honda cars.
- "I liked the new Insight as soon as I set eyes on it. From the outside, the Insight looks like a Honda-ized Toyota Prius, which is understandable -- the shapes of both cars are optimized for best possible aerodynamics. Angular headlights and a shiny chrome grille recall Honda's hydrogen-powered FCX Clarity, while the taillights remind me of the original two-seat Insight." -- About.com
- "The 2010 Insight, at first glance, fits almost perfectly into the Prius mold. The body has the same high-tail fastback silhouette, surely dictated by aero drag considerations. At 172.3 inches, the Insight is nearly three inches shorter than the Prius, 2.5 inches lower, and about an inch narrower." -- Car and Driver
- "I'd give the Insight the advantage in looks. The front-end styling on the Honda -- borrowed from the Honda Clarity and Accord -- is proper and fitting. The nose of the Toyota seems pretty cobbled together." -- Los Angeles Times
