Test drivers see some areas for improvement in the 2014 Honda Ridgeline's cabin, but what do they think of it on the road? Hi! I'm Jim Sharifi, Senior Editor with U.S. News Best Cars. In this video we'll take a closer look at the Ridgeline's performance.
The Honda Ridgeline comes with a 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 250 Horsepower, as well as a five speed automatic transmission and All Wheel Drive. Fuel economy is an EPA estimated 15miles/gallon in the city and 21 on the highway which is comparable to what other V6 powered compact trucks get, still some critics note that a few recently redesigned full size pick-ups get better fuel economy. Reviewers say the Ridgeline's engine as ample power although some comment that the transmission occasionally shifts more harshly than they would like. According to many critics the Ridgeline has a more comfortable ride and better handling than many rival trucks as well as precise steering and brakes that offer plenty of stopping power. On the other hand a few experts note that the Ridgeline can suffer from torque steer which means it pulls to one side under hard acceleration.
