Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2010 Honda Ridgeline does very well in federal government crash tests. The Ridgeline earned five out of five stars for both driver and front passenger protection in frontal crashes.  Side crash test ratings haven't been released yet, but the Ridgeline also earned a four-star rollover rating.

Reviewers are pleased with the available safety features on the Ridgeline, though some complain of visibility issues. The 2010 Ridgeline has anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist. The truck also has a vehicle stability assist function with traction control, and a tire pressure monitoring system standard for all four trims. What reviews note as a glaring oversight is the lack of a back-up assist system, as several reviewers complain of significant blind spots. The Ridgeline's crash protection equipment includes dual-stage, dual-threshold front air bags, front side air bags and side curtain air bags with a rollover sensor.

  • "Side mirrors needed to be bigger to illuminate the substantial blind spots created by the flying buttress C-pillars." Car and Driver
  • "There are side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor, electronic brake distribution (adjusts brake pressure between front and rear wheels depending on cargo load), brake assist (like adding a second leg to the brake pedal in certain panic-stop situations) and an electronic stability system with traction control." -- Cars.com
