If you’re looking for a comfortable interior, look no further than the 2010 Hyundai Elantra. It boasts more room than most of the cars in its class, a comfortable rear seat and storage space to spare. That said, beware of how quickly the Elantra’s price can rocket skyward once certain basic features, like air conditioning and an audio system, are added.

Front Seats

Test drivers generally agree that the front seats in the 2010 Hyundai Elantra are comfortable, pleasant place to be, even for taller drivers -- a group which often has some problems with comfort in this class.

Interior Features

Reviewers have mixed feelings about the design of the Elantra’s interior, which some describe as cheap or dated, but they enjoy its simple controls and easy-to-read gauges. The Elantra offers a long list of available features, but the base model has very few of those features as standard. To get air conditioning and an audio system, it’s necessary to opt for the Popular Equipment Package. If you want more upscale features like leather or heated front seats, you’ll need to upgrade to the top-of-the-line SE model with the Premium and Leather Package.

For lots of standard features at a price that won’t break the bank, consider the Kia Forte. Its starting price is about $500 less than the Elantra and it’s packed with high-end (like Bluetooth and Sirius Satellite Radio) standard features -- many of which you would only expect to get in a the upscale small car class.

The Hyundai Elantra offers 14.2 cubic feet of trunk space, which is generous for the class. Still, the trunk has a somewhat narrow opening, making it difficult to load bulky objects.
