Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The exterior of the Veracruz is largely modeled after the luxurious and refined Lexus RX 350. Reviewers have mixed opinions on whether this is a good or a bad thing.

  • "Swooping curves and two-tone bodywork define the Veracruz, which emulates styling themes set by Hyundai's other SUVs. The Veracruz is 190.6 inches long, 76.6 inches wide and 71.1 inches tall. It's longer, wider and taller than the Highlander, but is slightly smaller than the Honda Pilot in every dimension." -- Cars.com
  • "An aggressive exterior, with a rear spoiler, wraparound three-tiered headlights, and plenty of chrome accents make the 2009 Veracruz look and act more refined than its price indicates." -- Car Gurus
  • "The Veracruz presents a clean, uncluttered face, a balanced, sleekly executed profile and maybe a bit of a copycat rear aspect, but if it is, it's at least a copy of a winner." -- New Car Test Drive
  • "As for the exterior styling, it may be anonymous, but it's also inoffensive, and that seems to be the benchmark for this unadventurous segment." -- Automobile Magazine
