Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The Infiniti G37 Coupe has been warmly received, and some of its styling elements have been carried over into its sedan sibling for 2009. The convertible version, meanwhile, strikes most reviewers as simply beautiful.
- "Its Cool Hand Luke sleek lines boast without bravado." -- Detroit News
- "The exterior is now much more muscular-looking, thanks to the redesigned front grille and spoiler, the swept-back 'cat's-eye' look of the headlights and the swooping shape of the fenders." -- Road and Track
- "The new car's front end, which looks soft and Lexus-like in pictures, looks muscular and tough in person. Overall, it's a subtle evolution of a great design." -- Automobile Magazine
- "Chopping the top didn't ruin the G37 coupe's sexy lines-this is a striking convertible." -- Car and Driver
- "The hardtop G37 Convertible, which is making its debut at the 2008 Los Angeles auto show, will have several differences from its coupe relative. Infiniti says the design from the A-pillar back is all-new, including structural reinforcements in the chassis, a modified rear suspension, a wider rear track (62.8 in. with 18-in. wheels, 62.6 in. with 19-in. ones versus 61.4 in. for the coupe), and an extra 1.1 in. of overall width." -- Motor Trend
- "Unlike traditional folding hard top convertibles, the G37 doesn't sacrifice its looks. Top up, it's hard to tell its not a coupe, with panel seams carefully integrated into the design. Top down and you have something even prettier; Infiniti's design has finally come of age with last year's G37 Coupe and now this Convertible." -- Jalopnik
- "The Karmann-supplied top mechanism is beautifully fitted into the rear deck and unfolds with biomechanical smoothness, like the jaws of a praying mantis The G37 Convertible retains the coupe's surety of line, the wind-fluted rear shoulders and short rear overhang. So, point to Infiniti: This is the best-looking coupe/hardtop cabrio conversion out there." -- Los Angeles Times
