Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2009 QX56 received five out of five stars for driver safety and four out of five stars for passenger safety in frontal crash tests conducted by the federal government. Side crash tests have not been performed. Both the 2WD and 4WD models get three-star rollover ratings.

Accident Avoidance

Standard on the 2010 QX56 are anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist. The optional all-wheel drive system also helps to maintain grip on slippery surfaces. A rearview camera protects against accidents in while backing up and a tire pressure monitoring system helps the driver keep tabs on any issues that might develop in the tires.

Crash Protection

The QX56 comes equipped with dual-stage front air bags, side-impact air bags, and curtain air bags, as well as a passenger-classification sensor.
