Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The classic look of the Jaguar XJ appeals to a particular taste. Reviewers are as divided about it as buyers are - some consider it elegant and beautiful, others find it cloying and cartoonish. If it appeals to you, however, we should note that this is probably the last Jag to wear the characteristic lines of the original British cars. The 2010 XJ is in development now, and from what we have seen, it appears to a complete redesign that resembles the more modern-looking Jaguar XK far more than it resembles this car.
- "It may look like Ye Olde Motorcar, but the Jag XJ drives like a thoroughly modern automobile." -- Edmunds
- "This car is the embodiment of luxury sedan, with its lovely lines, some flashy chrome and a long-standing reputation. The Super V8 gets noticed, and you should be prepared for all that entails." -- Mother Proof
- "Whether the styling is staid, or traditional, is up to you: Personally, I wish the designers had moved a bit further from the last generation, as they did with the stunning two-door XK." -- Orlando Sentinel
- "The XJ is the narrowest sedan of its competitive set, but it's among the longer sedans in the class." -- Cars.com
