Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

A modern version of the Jeep Cherokee (retired in 2001), the Patriot features a seven-slot grille and rectangular body that reviewers love. Exterior features include halogen headlamps, a liftgate door with fixed glass and side roof rails.

  • "At first glance, the Patriot looks like it's about six years late to its own party, because it's such a faithful evolution of Jeep's Cherokee. It even shares the Cherokee's boxy bluffness, a big part of that vehicle's charm." -- Automobile Magazine
  • "To observe the Patriot is essentially to see the silhouette of the previous-generation Liberty, which raises the question: Does the world need another boxy SUV?" -- Cars.com
  • "At first glance, the Jeep Patriot's exterior will probably remind many people of the upright, boxy Jeep Cherokee of old. And that's the way Jeep wants it." -- Edmunds
