The 2008 Kia Rondo reliability score of 6.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
The Rondo comes with a five-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. MSN calls the lengthy basic warranty, which is also featured on Hyundai's vehicles, "the most-generous new-car warranty in the auto industry." In addition to the basic warranty, the Rondo comes with an equally generous ten-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a five-year/100,000-mile limited anti-perforation warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance plan.
Newsday calls the Rondo's reliability "less certain" because it's so new: "Consumer Reports hasn't published any information on it yet from its surveys of reader/owners; other Kias for which the magazine has data are average, except for the Sportage SUV, which is rated worse than average."
