Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The upscale-looking Sportage is generally praised.  Drawing comparison to its sibling, the Hyundai Tucson, Car and Driver says, "The Sportage has a chiseled, toned look, whereas the Tucson has a pudgier appearance."

Kelly Blue Book reviewers also found themselves "most impressed by the Sportage's distinctive design." A minority are less impressed. U.S. News' Rick Newman gave it a "not hot" rating, explaining, "There's a touch of the Lexus RX330 but not enough to overcome the truncated rear end, which vaguely reminds me of the old AMC Pacer."

Sixteen-inch tires with alloy wheels are standard, and the EX models get body color side cladding/fender flares.
