LA Auto Show News and Debuts

The Los Angeles Auto Show has become one of the premier stops of the auto show circuit. With its focus on cutting-edge design and green technology, the LA Auto Show occupies a niche that car makers, enthusiasts and everyday consumers can’t afford to ignore. More than 20 cars and automotive concepts will have their world debuts at the LA Auto Show, and 30 cars will have their North American premiers. Green technology is also a key part of the LA Auto Show. Not only is the LA Auto Show where the Green Car of the Year Award is decided, but at the 2011 LA Auto Show, there will be 15 cars that get more than 40 mpg, 35 hybrid and plug-in hybrids, seven electric cars and 13 alternative fuel vehicles. 2013 Mazda CX-5 Debuts at LA Auto Show

The all-new 2013 Mazda CX-5 SUV debuted today at the LA Auto Show. Powering the affordable compact SUV is Mazda’s 155-horsepower Skyactiv engine that is also offered in the 2012 Mazda3. With Mazda’s Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission, the CX-5 is expected to achieve EPA fuel economy figures of 26/32 mpg or 25/30 mpg city/highway in models with front- or all-wheel drive, respectively.

2012 Hyundai Azera Introduced at LA Auto Show

The second generation Azera is the latest Hyundai model to receive the company’s fluidic sculpture styling treatment currently found on the Sonata and Elantra. LA Auto Show: 2013 Infiniti JX Revealed

2012 Honda CR-V Hits the LA Auto Show

Honda first teased the redesigned 2012 CR-V in July. Now the automaker has pulled back the curtain on the redesigned Honda CR-V, which will go on sale nationwide December 15. Honda says the new CR-V will come with standard features that include Bluetooth, a backup camera and a function that can read texts over the stereo system when paired with a compatible cell phone.

Just like its sibling, the Lincoln MKS, the MKT gets an updated grille and more power for the 2013 model year. Lincoln says the base 2013 MKT will generate 300 horsepower. That’s a 32-horsepower increase when compared with the 2012 model.
