Used Car: 2011 Lexus CT 200h Review
When it debuted, the 2011 Lexus CT 200h was designed to mesh sporty performance with a fuel-efficient powertrain. While reviewers didn’t find it especially fun to drive, the CT 200h gets great fuel economy and has the highest safety and reliability scores in the class.
The 2011 Lexus CT 200h is ranked:
When Lexus introduced the 2011 CT 200h, the automaker emphasized that it was a sporty, yet fuel-efficient hybrid. However, reviewers generally agreed that in terms of performance, the CT 200h needed more power for highway merging and steep hills. Still, the CT 200h gets 43/40 mpg city/highway, which is good fuel economy for a used hybrid car.
Inside, the CT 200h’s front seats are comfortable, but like other small cars, passenger space is a little tight in the back. With the rear seats in use, there’s 14.3 cubic feet of cargo space, and that number increases to 27.4 with the rear seats folded. Reviewers didn’t gush over the CT 200h’s interior quality, but the base model is well-equipped. Standard features include dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, satellite radio and a USB port. Navigation and a rearview camera were optional when it was new. The CT 200h also offers top safety ratings and standout safety features like front knee airbags. With regard to reliability, the CT 200h also has the best rating in the class.
Other Cars to Consider
The 2011 Audi A3 TDI is also fuel-efficient, especially with its available diesel engine, and reviewers thought it was more fun to drive than the CT 200h. They also liked the A3’s high-quality interior and attractive exterior style. The A3 can’t match the CT 200h’s reliability, but its high safety scores and ample cargo space make it a practical choice among used small cars.
If you’re all about going green, consider the all-electric 2011 Nissan Leaf. Although it doesn’t have a gasoline engine, reviewers were impressed that the Leaf drove and handled a lot like a gas-only car. Like many green cars, the Leaf doesn’t have the most spacious passenger accommodations or a lot of cargo space, but it does have a lot of standard tech features.
