Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The 2009 Lexus GS 450 Hybrid looks identical to its non-hybrid cousin -- and the press considers the standard GS to be a beautifully-proportioned car. The Hybrid edition carries only a small hybrid badge revealing its eco-identity. Most automotive writes appreciate the subtle good taste of the stealth-hybrid car.

  • "The exterior of the car, while a little homogenous, does show a distinctly Lexus look with its almost fastback roofline." -- CNET
  • "Embracing the division's L-Finesse styling language, the GS 450h brings a legitimate sense of design passion to its sleekly flowing sheetmetal. Last years exterior freshening saw the prominent aero flair receive a minor massage courtesy of an edgier front fascia, bigger air inlet and new chrome grille surround set off by revised "Hybrid" badging. A well-proportioned glass area provides good outward visibility while bi-xenon HID headlamps and quick-responding LED taillamps make it easier for you to see and be seen, day or night." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "a beautifully sculpted car, some of the best exterior sedan lines I've seen anywhere. It drew lots of favorable attention on the street." -- Cars.com
  • "A sporty façade with a wide, powerful stance." -- Newsday
