Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The 2010 Lexus RX Hybrid has not yet been crash-tested, but the 2009 model did extremely well in federal government tests. One of the most popular safety features among auto writers is Vehicle Dynamic Integrated Management, which is designed to anticipate any instability on the road and stabilize the RX's handling.
- "Standard safety features include all-disc antilock brakes, side-impact airbags for the front and outboard rear seats, front and rear side curtain airbags, knee airbags for front-seat occupants, an electronic stability system and active head restraints for the front seats." -- Cars.com
- "Both 2010 RX models feature new ‘Intelligent' AFS, which estimates where the vehicle is going in a corner and adjusts headlight aim accordingly. New available automatic high beams use a camera on the inside rear view mirror to turn off and on for oncoming vehicles, and those ahead." -- AutoMedia.com
- "On the safety front, Lexus has thrown Campbell's alphabet soup surplus into the new RX, with the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system orchestrating the ABS, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRAC) systems. The RX also features Hill-Start Assist Control to prevent rolling on an incline and works both in Drive and Reverse." -- Autoblog
