Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2010 Lincoln MKS earns five out of five starts in government crash tests for both frontal- and side-impacts.   It earns four out of five for its ability to prevent a rollover. The mechanically-similar 2009 edition of this car earned the top score in both frontal- and side-impact tests conducted by the  Insurance Institute for Highway Safety as well, making it a "Top Safety Pick."

The car shares its chassis and airbags with the previous-generation Volvo S80, but not with the S80 currently in Volvo dealerships.  Standard equipment includes front, side and side-head-curtain airbags, as well as stability and traction control, and antilock brakes with brake assist.
