Maybach 57 - What the Auto Press Says

Reviewers find the Maybach 57 to be a classy and luxurious four-door sedan. Overall, it ranks in the middle of its class.

The Maybach 57 leaves critics floored with its luxurious features and solid performance dynamics. According to Car and Driver, "Maybaching is a singular experience, whether behind the wheel or way in the back, cocooned in leather and sipping Dom P'rignon from a crystal flute while a chauffeur works the controls up front (now that's a designated driver)." The review continues, "The Maybach's only objectionable feature is the extremely large number at the bottom of its Monroney label."

The Maybach 57 is available in two trims, the base and 57S.

  • "So is the 57 S enough to lure you from your Phantom? Maybach likes to point out that its chief competition is a luxury yacht or that vacation condo in Aspen, but, come on: Fact is, the car that might easily have been called a 600 or Pullman (if it were badged a Benz) competes directly with Rollers and Bentleys. 57 S is the most interesting car in the line for enthusiasts, but it feels like an 11/10ths-scale AMG S-Class. For the industry titans and hip-hop stars who can afford one, the sportified Maybach is impressive -- but also further muddles a confusing identity." -- Motor Trend

57 Performance - 9.2 (Excellent)

Test drivers find that the Maybach 57 performs remarkably. "Keeping in mind that the 57S tips the scales at more than three tons, we find it to be remarkably quick and surprisingly agile," writes Car and Driver. "Its huge brakes rein in its mass with authority, and its adjustable air suspension, which can be set from soft to sporty, works as intended." It ranks near the top of its class for performance. Critics are impressed with the Maybach 57's refined interior appointments. "Every visible hard surface is hand-rubbed to a deep luster, every soft surface is creamy leather, and everything that moves does so silently and precisely," writes Car and Driver. The 57 ranks near the top of its class in the category of interior. Continue with our full 57 Interior Review. Read More
