Safety - What the Auto Press Says
Neither the federal government nor the insurance industry have ever crash tested any Maybach product.
The 62 includes front and side airbags for the front seats, as well as side airbags for the rear seats and full-length head-curtain airbags. Traction and stability control, parking sensors and a backup camera are standard equipment. The car's braking assist system detects when the driver suddenly releases the accelerator pedal, and responds by priming the brakes to fire with maximum force to decrease stopping distance.
- "We were especially impressed by the brake system, comprised of two separate electrohydraulic circuits, internally vented discs, twin calipers at each front wheel and the electronic assistance of ESP, ASR, ABS and Brake Assist. There are certain rules of physics that apply to stopping 3-ton weights, but these brakes felt as though they could rewrite those rules." -- Edmunds
