Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The 2010 Mazda CX-9 has a curvy, car-like exterior in a class dominated by brick-like SUVs. For 2010, the styling has been updated somewhat, with new grille and changes to the lights and mirrors.
- "The crossover has a revised front fascia that brings the CX-9 more in line with its relatives, new wheels, and revised tail lamps." -- Left Lane News
- "The CX-9 has sleeker lines and a sportier look than most crossovers, especially large, three-row ones. The most noticeable changes compared with the 2009 model are the smiling grille and the shape of the taillights, both of which follow the lead established by other redesigned 2010 Mazdas, such as the Mazda3. The standard 18- and optional 20-inch wheels have been redesigned." -- Cars.com
- "Its look is Mazda sporty, with a signature five-point grille over a wide, aggressive bumper, wrap-around headlights and a broad-shouldered tail with curving tail lights and twin trapezoidal chrome exhaust tips. One nice touch is a full-width chrome strip across the top of the black-out grille opening, which flows across the top of the large, centered Mazda logo." -- Kelley Blue Book
- "The sharp nose, sloping windshield and tapered roofline contribute to a wedge-shaped profile that looks honed by the wind. The rear fenders are flared to accommodate the large tires. The Grand Touring model comes with 20-inch wheels." -- Kansas City Star
- "I have to admit that the CX-9 is a good-looking car. Somehow, it doesn't look as big as it is. It's vaguely egg-shaped, but strategically placed chrome and subtle lines create an elegant look that suggests a much heftier price tag." -- Mother Proof
