The 2010 Mazda6 stands out from a sea of bland-looking midsize cars with its sleek, bold styling. This Mazda was also regarded as one of the best-handling and most fun-to-drive midsize cars when it was new.

The 2010 Mazda6 does a lot of things well, but its stand-out features are its sporty styling and athletic performance. Reviewers praised its vast interior, big trunk and nimble handling when the Mazda6 was new.

The Mazda6 has a few downsides though. Its fuel economy is slightly less than what rivals deliver, and test drivers were somewhat disappointed with the base four-cylinder engine’s power. A few auto critics disliked some of the materials in the Mazda6’s cabin, which they said felt cheap compared with materials found inside higher-ranking 2010 midsize cars. Some competitors also outshine the Mazda6 with better safety and reliability scores.

The 2010 Mazda6 has either a four-cylinder or V6 engine. A six-speed manual is standard, while five- and six-speed automatics are also available. With the four-cylinder engine, the 2010 Mazda6 gets up to 21/30 mpg city/highway, which a bit low for the class. Base models come with standard features that include power windows and door locks and a six-speaker stereo with an auxiliary input. Upper trims add to that list with features like Bluetooth, a sunroof, leather seats, heated front seats and a Bose stereo.

Six airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control are all standard on the 2010 Mazda6. A blind spot monitoring system is available on higher trims, which is a feature typically seen on more upscale cars.
