Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The federal government gives the 6 tops scores in every safety test. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety hasn't tested the 2010 edition, but gave the 2009 6 a top score of "Good" in a frontal-impact crash test, though it has not performed a side-impact test.

Traction control, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, front and side-impact airbags, and side head-curtain airbags are all standard equipment.  The 6 is available with a blindspot monitoring system, common on more upscale cars but not yet common in the affordable midsize car class.
