Safety - What the Auto Press Says

With the exception of hampered rearward visibility, reviewers make no mention of the RX-8's level of safety.

The 2010 Mazda RX-8 earns four of five stars for driver protection and five stars for front-passenger protection in frontal crash tests conducted by the federal government. It also earns four stars for front- and rear-seat safety in side crash tests, as well as a rollover rating of five stars. No doubt, the RX-8's long list of standard safety features -- including front, side, and curtain airbags -- help achieve such scores.
