Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The 2009 CLK has not been crash tested by either the federal government or the federal government or the insurance industry. While safety equipment can't necessarily predict crash test performance, the car is well-equipped to avoid a crash or to help occupants survive one. Active head restraints (to help prevent whiplash), four-wheel antilock disc brakes with brake assist, and Electronic Stability Control are standard. Coupe models feature front, front-side and full-length head curtain airbags. Convertibles, however, lack head curtain airbags. Convertibles do include pop-up rollbars that deploy in the event of a rollover.
