2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Review

This review was written when the 2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class was new.

The E Class is a luxurious sedan that has a refined interior, multiple capable engine options, and confident handling. If you're looking for more cargo space and a roomier backseat, try the Mercedes-Benz E Class Wagon. Or for additional sport and sophistication, consider the BMW 5 Series.

The 2008 Mercedes Benz E Class is a superior blend of sport and luxury in a four-door sedan. The Arizona Republic says that the E Class is a "super sedan in nearly every respect." Car and Driver adds that the "fundamentals are all there." The E Class is "unquestionably the most popular luxury executive sedan on the global market today," says Automobile.com. New Car Test Drive adds that the E Class "describes a full line of big, roomy sedans that are solid, safe, practical, comfortable, luxurious and fast ... it expresses what most people think of when they think of Mercedes: status in elegant, understated fashion."

Some reviewers find the E Class costly, while others agree that for the price, buyers will take home a superb car with a strong resale value. Another cost consideration is that the E-Class delivers only middle-of-the-pack fuel economy for its class, and requires premium fuel.  Forbes reviewers still find that the E Class is "one of the best sport sedans money can buy." spending thousands less on one of the well-regarded entries from the competitors."
