The E Class carries Mercedes' prestigious look and is praised for its refined exterior. For 2008, the Mercedes Benz E350 and E550 can be fitted with an optional AMG appearance package.

"At once sleek and elegant, we think the attractive design of the E-Class perfectly communicates its Teutonic luxury mannerisms," says Kelley Blue Book. Writers from Edmunds agree, calling the new exterior on the E-Class sedan "sleek and dignified," sporting both "classy and aggressive styling, with a rising beltline that gives the car a stance like that of a crouching feline." Car and Driver concludes that the styling is "attractive." Edmunds concludes that the "exterior proportions and detailing are elegant and upscale."
