Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The federal government gives the 2010 M-Class and new hybrid model top five-star scores for all seating positions in both frontal and side crash tests. It also gives the M-Class a four-star rollover score, meaning it has only a 17 percent risk of rollover in single vehicle crashes. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the 2010 M-Class top scores of "Good" in frontal offset, side impact and rear crash protection tests.
To assist in parking, buyers can add the optional Parktronic system, an audio-visual parking assistance system that uses sound waves to detect nearby obstacles.
