Mercedes protects 2010 S-Class buyers with a two-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. In prior years, the company has included regularly-scheduled maintenance in the purchase price. That is no longer the case, but buyers can choose to pre-pay scheduled maintenance, or to extend the factory warranty for as long as 84 months for an additional fee. There is no separate powertrain warranty.  Buyers might want to note, however, that BMW does include all scheduled maintenance in the purchase price of its 2010 7-Series and offers roadside assistance throughout the warranty period as well.
