Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Reviewers report that the 350Z looks good, but not great. The roadster features a power-operated convertible soft-top with glass window, as well as an electronic tonneau cover. According to Nissan, the Z's top can be raised or lowered in just 20 seconds.

  • "The Roadster's attractive design and hide-away folding top make it equally attractive to those who care more about projecting a stylish image than tearing up a winding country road. This dual nature of showman and performer makes it the perfect choice for people who have vastly different ideas of what their next car should be." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "Shorn of its long, low, slender fastback roof inspired by the original Datsun 240Z, the 350Z Roadster looks pudgy and ungainly. With the softtop up, as it'll be in all but the sunniest of climes, the 350Z loses its long-hood, short-deck proportions, the rear stack height needed to clear the folding-top apparatus giving the car an acute case of bubble butt." -- Motor Trend
  • "Nissan decided against retro 240Z styling and gave the 350Z a modern, aggressive appearance, although its 'open mouth' grille looks like it should be covered with at least a chrome bar or wire mesh." -- MSN
  • "Mounted on top of that long nose is a bulging hood that looks as if the engine jumped off its mounts and bumped into the hood. The bulginess looks out of place on base models, but looks proportional when teamed with the Nismo package." -- Cars.com
