Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
The 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid doesn't look like the stereotypical hybrid. It looks like an Altima, and the only way to tell the difference is to look for the hybrid badge on the trunklid, or to look at the wheels (the hybrid has its own six-spoke design). The automotive press finds the Altima's design handsome, so they generally say the same about the hybrid version of the car.
- "Hybrids and other green cars, though known for being economical and earth-friendly, have a reputation for also being rather slow, odd-looking and uninspiring behind the wheel. Bucking the trend is the 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid. Although it has the outward appearance and driving manners of a conventional sedan, the Altima Hybrid sips fuel while keeping harmful emissions to a minimum." -- Edmunds
- "The Prius might have a face that only Ed Begley Jr. could love, but the Altima Hybrid ... is striking." -- Los Angeles Times
- "There's no Prius eco-pilgrim styling to set the Altima hybrid apart from (and morally above) the herd. A little badge on the trunklid, a different wheel design - that's about it." -- Car and Driver
- "The Altima certainly scores in the style department; it's more daring, a bit more sculpted, than the typical family four-door." -- Forbes,
- "While all midsize sedans suffer a certain inherent stuffiness, the Altima's shape is more interesting than most, with leaner, crisper lines than the Camry dares wear." -- The Truth About Cars
