Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2010 Nissan Cube has not been crash tested by the federal government or insurance industry. Still, the Cube does offer a number of standard safety features including six airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control and a Traction Control System. Unfortunately, Anti-lock Brakes are unavailable -- a glaring omission even in the compact car class.

If you want the security of good crash test scores and even more safety features, check out the Toyota Yaris which has Traction and Stability Control as well as an Anti-lock Brake System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Brake Assist. Best of all, its starting price is over $1,500 less than the Cube’s.

  • "I'm in the driver's seat, and I can't seem to adjust the rear-view mirror to fit the entire rear windshield. Is the mirror smaller than usual? Is the offset window throwing me off? Or am I just not used to driving a car with good rear visibility?" -- CNET
  • "From the front seats the Cube continues to impress from an ease-of-use standpoint. Not only do the picture frame-style windows work with the overall design of the car, but they also provide a tremendous amount of side visibility. Rear visibility is also excellent, as is forward visibility thanks to a large and steeply raked windscreen, a high seating position and a short front overhang." -- AutoGuide.com
