Nissan provides a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, as well as five-year/60,000-mile limited powertrain coverage.
Buyers should note that Nissan has recalled 44,955 model-year 2009 Muranos over a tire-pressure monitoring system nut that may fail in areas where heavy amounts of road salt are used during the winter months. Automotive News explains, "A cracked nut could cause it to fall out of the sensor-transmitter that it secures, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a report on its Web site. If that happens, and the driver disregards the monitoring-system lamp that lights up, the vehicle could get a flat tire, and an accident could occur, NHTSA said."
