Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The 2010 Nissan Rogue does very well in federal government crash tests, earning a top score of five stars for both front- and rear-seat safety in side impact crash tests (frontal crash tests have not been conducted). It also gets a four-star rollover score, which is on par with other SUVs. The new model has not been tested by the insurance industry, but the 2009 model got top scores of "Good" in frontal offset, side impact and rear crash protection tests. Nonetheless, it received only a score of "Acceptable" in roof strength tests.
The Rogue comes standard with plenty of safety features. In fact, only one option is available -- a RearView Monitor that costs $525. Standard equipment includes anti-lock brakes with Brake Assist and Electronic Brake force Distribution, dual-stage supplemental front air bags, driver and front-passenger seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags, roof-mounted curtain supplemental air bags for side-impact and rollover head protection for outboard occupants, Vehicle Dynamic Control and Traction Control.
